In India, over 28 people lose their lives Everyday for not wearing helmet. That sums up to over 10,000 lives in a year. This number is likely more than this because of the inadequate data and unreported cases. This is the first of its kind report that has been captured by policed and state departments.
In 2013, India tookover China to report the highest deaths in road accidents with over 1,30,000 deaths annually making Indian roads as the deadliest in the world.
According to another report, 98.6% of bikers who died didn’t wear a helmet. If only they were wearing a helmet, they would have been alive. Also a study of United Nations suggests that helmet improves survival change by 42%. We don’t care about helmets as long as we are not caught.
There are some motorcycle clubs and some citizens who actively promote the usage of helmet but the importance of an helmet still eludes the most.
We hope that these images will change the perception and that you start wearing helmet every-time you ride your 2-wheeler not because of the fear of getting caught or challaned but for the respect of your life.
